2021 Barossa Shiraz
2021
It’s no secret that Shiraz is the core strength of the Barossa. It has; is, and always will be quintessential to our region. This is due to the dedication of generations of Barossans. Our region has been lifted to the respective levels of Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne and Nappa.
The reason this has happened wasn’t by luck, it was the persistence of the people of the region and the realisation that they had to committed themselves to embracing the vineyards for what they naturally are and making wine that reflected a pure representation of what nature gave them.
They rejected the obsession of following other countries styles and branding to sell their wines, they committed to their own style that showed the essence of Barossa
They changed the wine world forever.
With this, I pay the highest respect to the great wines of the 80’s and 90’s; the wines that showed the world how great the Barossa is, in the hope the new generation of winemakers and grape growers don’t forget the thing that gave them the opportunity to do what they do and love now.
