I am a big believer in the ‘Barossa 5’ – the grapes that have stood the test of time and become the lifeblood of the Barossa. Semillon is one of these five and so it is with great pride that I am releasing my Semillon – with just a dash of Viognier.

I love the consistency and versatility of this grape variety. It can be lean/ med/ full/ or a sweeter desert style – making some of the best stickies in the world.

We are lucky enough to have access to some amazing, old Barossa Semillon.

The greatest strength of Barossa Semillon is in its approachability when young. Drinkability comes natural for this grape in the Barossa, ours showing the waxy, lemony, spicey flavours; with the barest hint of perfume in the distance – from the Viognier.

I love how this makes this a drink, a flexible food partner yet also with room to grow in your cellar as well.

Literally a ‘splash’ of Viognier approx. 2% gives it some added spice & perfume to the Barossa lemon rind & pepper Semillon. Semillon aged in old puncheon and stainless steel, means this zips and flies clean and long across the palate. Drink now or sleep in the cellar for many years.
